If you love the convenience of frozen pizza, Freschetta's Gluten Free Pizzas are really good. They are certified gluten free, so you know these are safely created for those with Celiac.
I happened to walk past a freezer section in Safeway today and noticed this gluten free frozen pizza by Freschetta. This box had some similarities to my favorite brand, Sabatasso's, so I decided to check it out.
It has been several months since our Costco stopped selling the Sabatasso's frozen gluten free pizzas."
The side of the box had the information I needed. This pizza is indeed made by Schwan's, the company that purchased the Sabatasso's company not too long ago. I am a little bummed out because I have not seen these gluten free frozen pizzas in my local Costco for several months now.
Safeway is selling this pizza for $9.99 for ONE pizza. Costco had these pizzas two for $11.99, which makes these pizzas more expensive. This is still a bargain to me compared to the other gluten free frozen pizza brands out there (Freschetta's are not only bigger than most gluten free pizzas, but they do taste better), but I liked Costco's prices much better!!
Our favorite way to eat Sabatasso's/Freschetta pizza is to cook it on a grill. Remove the frozen pizza from the packaging and just toss it on the grill. The crust stays nice and crispy this way!!
I hope everyone helps keeps an eye out and reports back here if these new Freschetta frozen gluten free pizzas show back up in Costco. Thank you!!
