A serving dish full of the chicken wings.

This easy turmeric chicken wing recipe started because I experimented with gluten-free game-day recipes. Chicken wings are always so popular when we have friends over to watch the Warriors play, so I decided to have some fun. You know how picky my daughter is if you have been reading for a while. She hates protein and would live on cheese and carbs if I let her. I didn’t expect her to eat almost all these wings in one sitting!

Air Fryer Directions:

I love to make these Ninja chicken wings in my air fryer. Many ask what is the best air fryer for chicken wings. I love my new larger 8 qt Ninja Foodi Air Fryer. The Ninja is better because you can cook many more wings at once.

  1. Place your wings into a large bowl to make this gluten-free chicken wings recipe in your Ninja air fryer. Sprinkle them with turmeric, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat them all with the seasoning.
  2. Use metal tongs to place the wings into the air fryer basket of your air fryer. Spray some oil over the wings. Use an oil that is good for high heat. My favorite oils to use are avocado and canola oils.
  3. For best results, ensure there is a little space between each chicken wing so that the air and oil can circulate each wing. This is what will help them be crispy on the outside all around!
  4. Air fry the wings at 370º F for 12-13 minutes. Ensure the internal temperature is 165º F. These air-fried wings are much lower in fat!

Recipe FAQ:

Can you use this recipe for other cuts of chicken?

You can use this recipe to make chicken thighs, legs, etc. It is a great flavorful recipe!

Can you cook frozen chicken wings in an air fryer?

Technically, you could cook frozen chicken wings in the air fryer, but the extra moisture will prevent them from crisping and frying well. I don’t recommend it from a flavor standpoint.

Can you make this wings recipe ahead?

You can season the wings ahead and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator until you are ready to cook them.

How do you store leftovers?

Store the leftover Ninja wings in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the refrigerator. You can freeze the wings, but they will lose their crispiness when they are thawed. I recommend crisping the wings in the air fryer.
