Summer is almost here, and we are so excited to enter what our family calls “pool party season.” It is time to take the pool cover off the pool and welcome our friends and family to come swim.
My husband, Mr. Fearless Dining, is the master griller in our family, and last year, I sweet-talked him into grilling fruit for the first time. Everyone LOVED it!! Many of my husband’s family live in Europe, and it is common to enjoy a cheese course after dinner. I wanted to find a way to share this tradition with our friends in a fun new way.
Head over to your local Safeway Grocery Store to find all of the ingredients to make these Grilled Fruit Kabobs. Keep reading to see how you can enter the Treasure Cave® Cheese Instant Win and Sweepstakes!
Treasure Cave® Blue Cheese has been our favorite for several months. I like to make gluten-free crepes, and I discovered their blue cheese when I was creating this savory crepe recipe for a dinner party. Treasure Cave® Cheeses are aged to perfection, adding an incredible flavor to my recipes.
Ways to Use Blue Cheese
Their cheeses are pre-crumbled in the package, making it so easy to use in recipes, sprinkle on salads, add to a cheese board for a wine tasting, garnish on soups, etc. The possibilities are endless!
Are you ready to see how easy these Fruit Kabobs are to make?
Instructions:
The first step is to soak your wooden skewers in water. This will prevent them from burning when they are on the grill. Next, cut up your favorite fruits. We used pineapple, strawberries, watermelon, and cantaloupe for our skewers.
Preheat the grill and make sure the grill grates are clean. Thread the fruit onto the skewers and place on the grill.
How long do you grill fruit for?
Cook until char marks are on each side and the fruit caramelizes slightly. It is a delicate balancing act because grilling the fruit too long will get mushy. For me, I grilled each side for 3 minutes.
Now, it is time to make the honey blue cheese dip. Add honey, blue cheese, ricotta cheese, and a little heavy cream to a pan and cook on low heat, stirring frequently. The dip is ready when the cheese is hot and liquid.
Chop some of the blue cheese on a cutting board so you have small shreds that you can sprinkle on top of the blue cheese dip.
Sprinkle on the small cheese shreds.

Most people make sweeter dips to go with fruit. I love this salty, more savory dip as a nice contrast to the sweet, caramelized fruit. Yay blue cheese!
