Have you seen Maya Kaimal’s fresh Indian Simmer Sauces at your local Costco and grocery stores? I loved trying their delicious gluten free sauces.
When I was at my local Costco this week, it was full of new gluten free products. One that caught my eye was a line of Indian simmer sauces by Maya Kaimal. These Indian sauces are not only gluten free, but vegan as well. My three pack had Coconut Curry, Tikka Masala, and Vindaloo simmer sauces. The Tikka Masala Simmer Sauce is mild, the Coconut Curry is medium spice, and the Vindaloo is spicy hot. I love that Maya Kaimal offers a taste of each. Having a variety makes it a fun find at Costco.
(*Note, this is not a sponsored post, I just really loved these sauces and wanted to tell you about them.)
Maya Kaimal also has several other products that they make gluten free, including refrigerator sauces, shelf stable sauces, and flavored chickpea chips.
I love how healthy the ingredients are. No chemicals, preservatives, or unpronounceable ingredients. You will feel good serving this meal to your family.
I decided to try out the coconut curry simmer sauce first. The directions are as easy as they come. Saute chicken, tofu, or seafood, add vegetables, pour the contents of the container into the pan, and simmer 10-20 minutes. I still have a lot of farm veggies leftover from last week’s farm box that I need to use up, so I am using carrots, and broccoli with some tofu.
Wrap the tofu in a towel to get the extra water out. I only use non-GMO, organic tofu. Heat the oil in a pan up on high heat and cooked the tofu until it was cooked on all sides. Remove the tofu and put it on a paper towel to absorb the extra oil. In the same pan, add more oil and the cut up broccoli and carrots. When the vegetables were cooked, I added the sauce and tofu to the pan and cooked another 10 minutes.
My family really likes this coconut simmer sauce. The sauce is thick and has a creamy flavor. It says on the container that it is medium heat, but I disagree. I would say it is closer to mild, unless you really can’t handle spicy foods. I would buy this again because it is mild enough for my kids to enjoy it as well (and grownups can add additional spices 🙂 .
