(This is a sponsored conversation with ZonePerfect®. All opinions are my own.)

Today is going to be a little different. It is a new year, and I have a confession to make to you.

I need to get my nutrition back on track. I have been gaining weight, and it isn't fun. Blogging has been my dream job, but the sweet recipes are finally catching up with me.

You would probably laugh at me :-). I am not very coordinated, but I am starting to be less embarrassed to myself. (I am the one who hides in the back of the class and does every move opposite to the instructor!)

This delicious Strawberry Oatmeal Smoothie Bowl with a chopped-up ZonePerfect's Oatmeal Chocolate Chunk Nutrition Bar is my new go-to nutritious breakfast.

You, my readers, love those sweet recipes I create. I need to find a way to farm out all of the gluten free baked sweets I make! (Any takers?) I would even make a delicious breakfast smoothie bowl for you :-). You will also love this Pear Smoothie Bowl recipe.

You know me, and you know I have a wicked sweet tooth. My love of sweets is obvious in every sweet recipe I create. I need to find a way to add some health components to my recipes. I bake a lot using almond flour, which helps, but in the new year, I look for less sugar with options to sweeten things up if needed.

This strawberry smoothie bowl recipe also makes a great pre-workout snack! It gives me the energy to handle those one-hour power classes like Cardio Barre!

It isn't just me who is loving this delicious recipe for a strawberry banana smoothie bowl. Mr. Fearless Dining is partnering with me to eat more nutritiously. He already is a workout dynamo and working out is now something we can do together! (This was our New Year's resolution together!)

Are you ready to see how easy it is to make this strawberry smoothie bowl?

This Vitamix is one of my favorite kitchen appliances of all time. I use it to make soup, ice cream, sorbet, smoothies, cream sauces, and more. It is quick and powerful. Clean up is also really easy!

How To Make A Strawberry Smoothie Bowl:

The first step is to chop up a nutrition bar into bite-sized pieces. These are good so try not to pop too many into your mouth as you cut them. You won't have any left for your strawberry smoothie bowl!

Step 1: Blend all of the smoothie ingredients in a Vitamix or Blender. Fresh strawberries give this breakfast smoothie a beautiful pink color!

Step 2: Top with your favorite ingredients like fresh strawberries, coconut, pecans, and protein bar pieces.

You can also make frozen popsicles out of this smoothie as I did in this Fruity Protein Popsicles recipe.

Tips and Recipe FAQ:

Are smoothie bowls healthy?

Most smoothie bowls are healthy, as long as you don't top them with chocolate chips and candy. This healthy smoothie bowl recipe is perfect for breakfast or a post-workout snack.

Make your smoothie thicker:

I love thicker, creamier smoothie bowls, so I like to add certified gluten free oats to the smoothie. This thickens up the smoothie beautifully, and adds extra nutrition too!

What can you add instead of bananas?

To keep the consistency of the smoothies, you can add mango, pineapple, or even your favorite nut butter to this smoothie recipe.

Can I use a different fruit?

You can definitely use different fruits so feel free to change things up and try fruits like raspberries, blueberries, pineapple and more!

How To Add Extra Protein:

When ZonePerfect reached out to me to work together on a post, I have to say their timing was perfect. My family has been eating ZonePerfect Nutrition Bars for a couple of years now. Protein bars are a great way to add extra protein to a smoothie bowl!!

My very favorite bar is their Oatmeal Chocolate Chunk Nutrition Bar. I love that ZonePerfect has a gluten free option that uses certified gluten free oats.

  • It has just enough chocolate so that it tastes delicious, but only 10 grams of sugar. (It is kid-approved with my busy teens!)
  • These bars have 10 grams of protein, which adds just the right amount of protein so that I don't feel hungry after eating one.
  • There are NO artificial sweeteners or flavors in ZonePerfect Nutrition Bars!
