How To Roast Fava Beans

Fava beans are all over the farmer's markets right now. They make a great side dish!

Ingredients:

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Salt + Pepper + Seasonings

Fava beans look like really big green bean pods. They are grown as a crop cover to rest soil. The beans inside are very tasty!

Grab a medium-sized bowl. Open the fava beans and remove the beans. Place them into the bowl. You can compost the shells.

Fava Beans get almost a caramelized flavor when you roast them. Serve them with chicken, beef, or fish dishes.

Toss the fava beans with oil, minced garlic, salt/pepper, and seasonings. I like to use Italian seasonings for roasted fava beans.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the fava beans out so they don't overlap. Roast at 375º F for 20-25 minutes.

This is what your roasted fava beans should look like. The skin puckers and gets a little crispy, and the beans inside are soft and flavorful.
