You can find prickly pears from summer through winter in markets. If you are picking your own, wear thick gloves because the spines are really sharp!

Prickly pears come in many different colors ranging from green, to yellow, orange, and hot pink!

Prickly pears are full of tiny rock hard seeds. Some will swallow them to eat the fruit but I prefer to use a strainer to remove them.
