What Is Rotel?

Rotel is a canned tomato product that has green chiles. You can buy Rotel in several heat levels, from mild to hot. They also have flavors featuring different peppers like serrano, habanero, and chipotle.

The Rotel brand was started in Texas by Carl Roettele. He and his wife opened a canning plant but worried nobody could spell their last name. They decided to label the cans with the name Rotel.

If you love Mexican flavors, this is easy to bring out those flavors in your cooking. Don't forget to check Is Shredded Cheese Gluten Free!

Rotel is popular and is used by many to flavor foods like dips and slow cooker meals like this Slow Cooker Cornish Game Hens recipe.

Answer: Is Rotel Gluten Free?

I am happy to say that YES, Rotel is gluten free! Rotel is made with no gluten ingredients, and it has no red flag ingredients for hidden gluten. In fact, Rotel states that their product is free of the Top 8 Allergens on their website.

Rotel makes ten flavors of diced tomatoes; all ten are gluten-free. Let's look at the ingredients in Rotel.
