    Maple Cinnamon Cream Cheese Schmear

    You are going to love this new homemade schmear recipe! Sweet maple cinnamon cream cheese has all of my favorite flavors. Spread it on bagels or even sweet potato toast for a deliciously healthy breakfast or snack!

    It is so quick and easy. You can top with my homemade maple cinnamon cream cheese and sweet bananas, or make it more savory with an egg. These Sweet PotaTOASTS swap out for the bread so use them anywhere you would use bread!! It is like eating a superfood toast!!

    Are you ready to see how easy this homemade cinnamon cream cheese spread is to make? Whipped cream cheese for bagels may be the norm, but wait until you try it on sweet potato toast!!

    Recipe step by step directions:

    Step 1: Add softened cream cheese and maple syrup to a food processor.

    Step 2: Add in your seasonings, then some whipping cream.

    Step 3: Add the lid and blend until the cream cheese is whipped and creamy! This sweet cream cheese spread is ready to enjoy!

    Expert Tips and Recipe FAQ:

    What is the best cream cheese to make a spread or schmear?

    I prefer to use full-fat cream cheese. Let the block of cream cheese come to room temperature so that it blends easily without lumps.

    What is the best type of maple syrup?

    I always use 100% real maple syrup. Grade A or Grade B maple syrup both work well.

    How long will this cream cheese schmear last?

    This homemade cream cheese will keep up to 4 days in an air-tight container.

    Ingredients
      

    • 8 ounces cream cheese
    • 2 tablespoons whipping cream
    • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
    • ⅛ teaspoon ground ginger
    • ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves

    Instructions
     

    • Allow cream cheese to warm to room temperature
    • Place all of the cream cheese spread ingredients into a food processor and blend until whipped.
    • Spread the cream cheese schmear on the toast and top with sliced bananas and a honey drizzle

    1. I recommend using full-fat cream cheese instead of low fat. It spreads better and is creamier.
